Budget Process Timeline for Fiscal Year 2011-2012 Budget

Budget Timeline 

  • On June 1, 2011, Mayor Lee submitted his proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2011-2012.  For a description of each department budget, please visit A Look at Department Budgets. 

 

  • As of Thursday, June 23, 2011, the Budget and Finance Committee held initial hearings for department budgets, and the Budget and Legislative Analyst recommended changes to the proposed budget.  Please visit Notes from the Budget and Finance Committee for a description of the recommendations and status of the recommendations.  

 

  • On Friday, June 24, 2011, the Budget and Finance Committee held public comment for members of the public who wished to speak on items presented at the Committee.  Please visit Notes from the Budget and Finance Committee for information on this hearing.    

 

  • On Monday, June 27, 2011 and Wednesday, June 29, 2011, the Budget and Finance Committee will hold second hearings on department budgets.  Below is a list of departments with second hearings.  Should there be a need for further discussion, departments will have an additional hearing on Thursday, June 30, 2011.  Please visit Notes from the Budget and Finance Committee for information on these hearings.

  • On Thursday, June 30, 2011, the Budget and Finance Committee held final budget deliberations.  The Committee approved the budget and submitted it to the full Board of Supervisors.   

 

  • On Tuesday, July 12, 2011, The budget introduced at the Board of Supervisors as a whole and sit on the calendar for one week.

 

  • On Tuesday, July 19, 2011, the Board of Supervisors took its first vote on the budget.  The Board of Supervisors voted 11-0 to support approval of the budget. 

 

  • On Tuesday, July 26, 2011, the Board of Supervisors took a final vote to adopt the Fiscal Year 2011-12 budget and passed it unanimously.  Mayor Edwin M. Lee signed the final Fiscal Year 2011-12 budget.  For more information, click here.
