Juvenile Hall Transition Team Leader

Joanne is providing project management services to the JuvenileProbation Department for the new Juvenile Hall Replacement andRelocation projects. She coordinates the department's efforts inplanning, design development, and construction for the new facility andin transition phase operations, as the new facility will be built onthe existing site while maintaining current Juvenile Hall operations.
Joanne became familiar with the collaborative work betweengovernment agencies and community health service providers through herwork with the Department of Public Health. She is the former Directorof Cultural Affairs for the San Francisco Arts Commission and executivedirector of the Vermont Council on the Arts, a state agency. Her workin the arts focused on the development of the arts in communitiesthrough the establishment of the Cultural Equity Grants program, artseducation initiatives, design arts institutes and new works programs.Prior to arts administration, she worked in architecture andconstruction management on projects ranging from state capital masterplanning, urban housing, and transit systems to educational andcorrectional facilities.
She earned a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Californiaat Berkeley, a Masters in Science from the Arthur D. Little School ofManagement in Cambridge, and is a registered architect in Californiaand Vermont.
