	Executive Directive To Prevent Summer Violence In SF - The directive calls for law enforcement agencies to enhance patrol strategies in hot spot areas and establishes a Summer Street Violence Prevention Council that will seek to enhance outreach and social service delivery to hot spots.
	Community Justice Center - Mayor Newsom proposed this ambitious effort to address quality of life infractions by ensuring offenders receive adequate services.
	$100,000 rewards - Mayor Newsom has authorized rewards for unsolved homicides of up to  $100,000 for information leading to the aprehension and conviction of these murders (PDF).
	Summer 2008 Crime and Violence Prevention Efforts   - Mayor Newsom is committed to making every San Francisco street safe. This summer alone, Mayor Newsom has added new police officers to the streets, implemented innovative violence prevention policies and worked with city and state government officials to tackle the various complex issues related to crime and violence.
	MOCJ New Staff - MOCJ has brought on new staff.
	Expanded Police Presence in Housing Authority Sites - In addition to the housing authority sites that currently have community policing beat patrols (Sunnydale, Alice Griffith, Hunters View and Potrero) this effort will increase the number of sites from four to eight (Yerba Buena Plaza East, Hayes Valley North and South and Alemany).
	Community Policing Advisory Committee - In response to the SFPD's report on community policing, released in November 2006, the Mayor's Office will be forming a Community Policing Advisory Committee. Over the course of six months, the Committee will review and research local and national best practice community policing models that can be used to build upon and enhance community policing in San Francisco.
	City Crime Data - At the Board of Supervisor's Public Safety Hearing, the MOCJ Director presents data related to public safety to give an overview of where incidents are occurring throughout the city.

	Juvenile Justice Reform: Mayor Newsom's executive directive (PDF) - The Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice will immediately act to reconstitute and renew the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI), by establishing the JDAI Implementation Committee. The Committee shall be facilitated and coordinated by the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, with active support and participation from all of San Francisco’s juvenile justice agencies.
