SAN FRANCISCO, CA-Mayor Newsom has issued Executive Directive 07-06to enhance enforcement and social services in summer "hot spots."

The directive calls for law enforcement agencies to enhance patrolstrategies to hot spot areas and establishes a “Summer Street ViolencePrevention Council” that will seek to enhance outreach and socialservice delivery to hot spots.

Mayor Newsom also released his “Safe Summer 2007” resource guidethat documents existing strategies in place at city agencies that offercomprehensive violence prevention and intervention during the summermonths.
