Minutes of Jan. 8, 2001 Meeting of The Commission

1. The meeting was called to order be President Charles Coolidge.


2. Commisioners Renie Champagne, Charles Coolidge, George Gibbs, Leonard Grube, Wallace Levin, Jim Lineberger, Elizabeth Melnik, CJ O’Mara, Glenn Raswyck, Edwin Wilkerson, were present. Also present were Wayne Snodgrass (City Attorney), Frank Deering (VFW), NAte Ratner (Sons of the American Legion), Edward Epstein (Chronicle), Elaine Merylin wONG (Battleship Iowa), William Stephens (Battleship Iowa), Mark Raymond Chandler (Alemeda County Veterans Affairs Commission), Anna Marie Anger (Vietnam Memorial) and Supervisor Aaron Peskin.


3. President Coolidge led the Pledge of Allegiance.


4. The agenda was approved unanimously.


5. The minutes of the Dec. 4, 2000 meeting were approved.


6. Reports. The 91st Division flag: Nate Ratner reported on his efforts. Hall. The Mayor did not answer our letter sent to him in November. He also did not fly the 91st Division flag from the pole outside his office on Veterans Day. Wallace Levin made a motion to send another letter to the Mayor Brown, Ryan Brooks, Director of the Department of Administrative Services and the Board of Supervisors. The motion was second by Renie Champagne and passed unanimously.
