6. Overview of SF One Bay Area Grant Cycle 2 (OBAG 2) Framework (Presentation by Seon Joo Kim)
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission's OBAG program directs federal funding to projects and programs that integrate the region's transportation program with California's climate law and the Plan Bay Area. This is an overview of San Francisco's OBAG 2 framework and the Complete Streets Checklist process with BAC members, with an opportunity to answer any questions and discuss next steps.
7. Support of Panhandle Protected Bike(s) Lane Proposal (Draft Resolution Submitted by Panhandle Subcommittee, Melyssa Mendoza)
The MTA has begun analysis and review of protected bike lanes on Oak and Fell along the Golden Gate Park Panhandle.
8. Increased Enforcement of signal Requirements (Discussion leading to Resolution by Bert Hill, District 7) Vision
Zero has worked at targeting the behaviors that most threaten pedestrians and bicyclists, finding that the primary cause is inappropriate speed. Another primary factor is visibility, including communication by everyone sharing the streets. Motorists and bicyclists are obligated by the vehicle code to signal intentions 100 feet prior to turn or lane change, a law regularly violated, yet critical for communication to other road users (CVC 22107 – 08).
9. Double Parking on Streets with Parallel Light Rail Tracks (Discussion leading to Resolution by Bert Hill, District 7)
Recent news reports exposed the danger of double parked vehicles on Church St. near 17th St. by doubleparked vehicles. It is difficult for bicyclists to pass and cross rails at an oblique angle on this street. The danger is compounded in the rain when there is insufficient traction for bicycle wheels to cross rails without being caught in the trough, ejection the bicyclist violently from the bike.

The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting. Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting room of any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone, pager, or other similar sound-producing electronic devices.
