Update and improve the buildings and structures that house the Chinatown, Mission and Ocean View Branch Libraries.
Improve services at the Main Library to better meet the needs of patrons.

Support & Celebrate Reading & Learning

Promote technology use and skill-building among senior citizens and economically disadvantaged residents by providing access to computers, tablets and technology classes.
Initiate innovative programs and events that promote lifelong learning and celebrate the city’s diverse cultures.

Engage Youth in Learning, Workforce & Personal Growth

Support youth engagement and learning through the teen digital media lab.
Provide job training, internships, college prep, and educational support for teens and transitional age youth.

Provide Access to Innovative Information Services

Provide free high-speed internet access, public computers and technology lending.
Enhance the virtual library presence for more seamless use of online resources.

Develop Strong Community Partnerships

Help every child and family, especially those most in need, thrive.
Promote literacy and learning through partnerships with the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library, San Francisco public schools, the Mayor’s Office, Our Children Our Families Council, Human Rights Commission and others.
