Jose_Caedo.jpgThe Mayor’s Office on Disability expresses its sincereappreciation to Jose Caedo for over ten years of dedicated service withthe Mayor’s Office on Disability.

Jose began work in 1997 as a Complaints Investigator for the Mayor’sOffice, and went on to serve as one of the first staff members of thethen newly-formed Mayor’s Office on Disability.  The fact that Josesuccessfully assisted many thousands of consumers (in providinginformation and referral, complaints resolution, in addition tooftentimes being a much-needed “friendly ear” for people in the mostdesperate circumstances) is an enduring testament to his many years ofhard work and dedication.

Mr. Caedo was a former Chair of the San Francisco Mayor's DisabilityCouncil and the Paratransit Coordinating Council.  He also served as adisability access consultant to a number of government agenciesincluding the San Francisco Police Department, MUNI and privatecorporations.

Jose has said that the most important thing that he carries with himfrom working with the many thousands of clients who called, wrote andstopped by for assistance from MOD, “is knowing that these clientsapproved of my help and were able to be taken care of appropriately. The best moments of my working at City Hall were the daily blessings ofbeing able to help people in need. The dozens of letters ofappreciation from the public, in addition to the official recognition that I have received from the  Governor, State Senate, State Assembly, and SF Board of Supervisors will  be  treasured.   Many thanks to theprofessionals in other City Departments with whom I worked withcivility and collegiality.”

We will miss Jose and wish him a Very Happy Retirement!
