Mayor Lee’s Statement on Change in SFMTA Leadership
Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement about San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Executive Director and CEO Nathaniel P. Ford’s departure from the SFMTA:
“I appreciate Mr. Ford’s leadership and service to our City and to the SFMTA for making progress over the last five years.
Now is the time to focus on the future of the SFMTA and continue to make good on our promise to San Francisco transit riders and taxpayers by creating greater efficiency in our transit system, improving on-time performance, and honoring our City’s Transit First Policy. Moving forward, we must make improvements for pedestrians, bicyclists, drivers, and all residents. This is the time for change, and I am certain that the SFMTA Board of Directors will carefully deliberate in their search for a new Executive Director to continue our City’s efforts to build the best public transit system for all San Franciscans.”
