Mayor Lee Reaches Tentative Agreement With Police & Fire Union Leaders
Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement on the tentative agreement reached with Police Officers Association and Fire Fighters Local 798 public employee unions:
“This tentative agreement provides the City with the savings needed to meet our goals in balancing the City’s budget for Fiscal Year 2011-12. If approved by the membership of the police and fire unions and the Board of Supervisors, this tentative agreement will contribute a combined $31 million in savings over the next two years needed to balance the budget and protect vital public services.
Once again, our first responders, who protect and serve our City every day, have stepped up to preserve jobs and keep our City safe.”
