Mayor Lee’s Statement on Rosh Hashanah

Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah:

“I send my warmest wishes to the Jewish families in our City, and all those around the world who are celebrating Rosh Hashanah. Every year, the beginning of the High Holidays is marked by deep reflection, repentance and a reaffirmation of values.

As the celebration of Rosh Hashanah and the beginning of the High Holidays begins, we join together in celebrating diversity and multiculturalism, core values for those of us who live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here in San Francisco, generations of Jewish San Franciscans have served our City, making contributions to our history, economic vitality and culture.

The City and County of San Francisco is proud to recognize and support its Jewish community in the hopes that all have a blessed holiday and a healthy, happy year ahead. Shana Tova.”
