Jim Whipple is the Access Compliance Officer for the Mayor's Office onDisability, having served in that position since December of 2002. Hisprimary responsibility is to review City funded construction projectsfor compliance with the ADA.

Mr. Whipple has been a building inspector for a total of 20 years,with the last 17 of those years specializing in accessibilityenforcement. He previously worked for the San Francisco Department ofBuilding Inspection where he was instrumental in the formation of acity wide disability access enforcement program to respond tocomplaints from the public. Additional previous experience studyingarchitecture and working for architects has proved invaluable inproviding extensive knowledge of construction drawings and materialsand methods of construction. Mr. Whipple has obtained certification inmany areas of specialty in construction inspection and plan review.
