I. Minutes (Action Item): (5 minutes)
Approval of December 2nd meeting minutes.
II. Public Comment: (40 minutes)
Comments may be directed to any item on or off the agenda within
the jurisdiction of the Commission.
III. Future Meeting in the Mission District (Action Item): (15 minutes)
Request to hold the next Commission meeting in the Mission District
area to discuss the impact on immigrants in San Francisco of the new guidelines
of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
IV. Director’s Report: (5 minutes)
Monthly report from the Executive Director.
V. Language Access Ordinance: (10 minutes)
Update of the status of the introduced legislation on the Language
Access Ordinance.
VI. Change Meeting Time (Action Item): (10 minutes)
The Commission will discuss and take action on the request by
Commissioner Mallare to move the starting time of the Commission meeting from
4:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
VII. Immigration & Naturalization Service (Action Item): (5 minutes)
Regarding the meeting between the Mayor and the regional Immigration
and Naturalization Services as promised.
VIII. Commission Planning (Action Item): (10 minutes)
Discussion on the future planning for the Commission such as:
Commission retreat, required yearly report, etc.
IX. Commission Powers and Duties: (15 minutes)
Continue to discuss parameters of the powers and duties of the
Commission.
X. Next Meeting’s Agenda (5 minutes)

The Immigrant Rights Commission meeting will be held in Room 416 at City Hall,
1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco.
The meeting location is between Grove and McAllister Streets and is wheelchair
accessible. The closet BART and Muni Metro Station is Civic Center, about three
blocks from the meeting location. Accessible Muni lines nearest the meeting
