MINUTES - November 1, 1999, Meeting of the Commission, Room 104

CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 1802 hrs.

ROLL CALL: Veronika Cauley, Renie Champagne, Charles Coolidge, Bob DeLaCruz, Leonard Grube, Wallace Levin, Jim Lineberger, CJ O’Mara, Glenn Raswyck, Edwin Wilkerson; and a quorum was present. Attorney Wayne Snodgrass was also present.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: All

APPROVAL OF AGENDA: The agenda was approved unanimously with a hand vote.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes were approved unanimously with a hand vote.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

REPORTS: A. Secretary -Reminder to Commissioners Levin, Gibbs and Raswyck to send in their reapplication forms to the Rules Committee of the Board of Supervisors for reinstatement to Commission.

B. Health and Welfare Committee - None.

C. Legislative Committee - None.

D. Web-site Report - C. O’Mara requested that members update their E-mail addresses and RSVP.

E. Officer’s Nominating Committee - C. Wilkerson, C. Levin and C. Gibbs (in place of C. May, who was out of the country), nominated the following:

    • Commission President - Glenn Raswyck
    • Commission Vice-President - Bob DeLaCruz (who declined and was replaced by Charles Coolidge)
    • Commission Secretary - Leonard Grube
    • Open nominations for offices - None.
    • Final nominations and vote at December meeting.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: C. Champagne reported on the Veterans’ Parade..

NEW BUSINESS: C. Lineberger reported on Veterans’ resources with the Small Business Administration.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: C. Wilkerson reported on the VEC and the Veterans’ Resource Fair. The battleship Iowa is coming to the Historic Ships at the Maritime Square.
