II. SET SCHEDULE FOR FUTURE MEETINGS
Action item: A regular meeting schedule was set for the second Wednesday of every month at 10am at City Hall, Room 288. The next scheduled meeting will be March 10, 2004.
III. PROPOSED LEGISLATION
Action item: vote to submit or not submit the following proposed bills on behalf of the City and County of San Francisco to the City's state legislative delegation for introduction.
Public Utilities Commission
A. Authorizing net metering for solar power facilities: the Committee unanimously agreed to submit the legislation with the City's support.
B. Defining capital facilities fees: the Committee unanimously agreed to submit the legislation with the City's support.
Treasure Island Development Authority
C. Authorizing tidelands trust exchange at Treasure Island: the Committee agreed by a vote of 5-2 to submit the legislation with the City's support. The votes were as follows:
D. Designating ownership of Treasure Island freeway ramps as part of the state highways system: the Committee unanimously agreed to submit the legislation with the City's support.
City Attorney
E. Enhancing penalties for code violations in buildings where children reside: the Committee unanimously agreed to submit the legislation with the City's support.
Department of Human Services
F. Eliminating the 75% cap per facility on subsidized childcare slots: the Committee unanimously agreed to submit the legislation with the City's support.
Department of Environment
G. Authorizing transport of up to 27 gallons per month of hazardous materials for disposal: the Committee unanimously agreed to submit the legislation with the City's support.
IV. SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
- SB 1161 (Alpert): Librarian Susan Hildreth suggested that the Committee
discuss legislation to sell bonds to finance library construction and renovation.
Committee members suggested discussing this proposal within the broader context
of what City bond measures to support.
