      II.      APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES

Action item: The Committee voted to approve the minutes of the January 12, 2006 meeting of the State Legislation Committee.

 

    III.      PROPOSED LEGISLATION

 

A.      AB 432 (Oropeza):  to authorize anyone who becomes a U.S. citizen in the final 14 days before Election Day to register and vote at a designated location by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

B.      SB 1193(Bowen):  to authorize students to work as pollworkers without their attendance counting against average daily attendance for state funding.

Position taken:  Support

 

 

 

C.      AB 450 (Yee):  including animals and pets in emergency planning efforts.

D.      AB 759 (Lieber):  to provide unconditional standing to the City and County of San Francisco in unfair competition lawsuits.

E.      Bill # TBA (Migden):  to increase flexibility of land use along the Port of San Francisco.

F.      Bill # TBA (TBA):  to establish ownership of the Bay Bridge onramps at Treasure Island by Caltrans upon transfer of the Island from the Navy to the City and County of San Francisco.
