II. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
The Committee approved the minutes of the July 10, 2008 meeting of the State Legislation Committee.
III. ORGANIZATIONAL DISCUSSION
The purpose of this committee is to make recommendations for endorsement, opposition, or neutrality of legislation pending before the California State Legislature that would affect the City andCounty of San Francisco.
Suter and Associates are available to distribute legislation and add legislation to watch lists for any department in need of this service. The purpose of the 2009 State Agenda is to provide this framework.
Discussion withheld on legislative priorities for this committee to take official action on.
Each department is asked to send comprehensive and summarized versions of their department’s state legislative agenda.
IV. 2009 STATE AGENDA
The Committee reviewed and discussed the draft 2009 State Agenda for the City and County of San Francisco. Committee members and representatives made suggested changes for a revised draft for the next meeting of the Committee.
V. UPDATE ON THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA BUDGET
Gigi Whitley, Mayor’s Budget Office, presented an update on the California State Budget and the impact on San Francisco’s finances.
VI. SET REGULAR SCHEDULE FOR FUTURE COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Next meeting: Monday March 23, 2009 3:00pm Room 288, City Hall
