Plan Revisions
Following release of the Better Streets Plan Draft for Public Review (June 2008), staff received public comment on the Draft Plan, summarized here. Based on this comment, staff have developed Plan Revisions, provided below. The Plan Revisions amend or augment the Better Streets Plan Draft for Public Review.

Better Streets Plan Institutional Analysis
To implement the Better Streets Plan in a consistent and coordinated manner the City is also taking steps to improve its street delivery process. The City asked the Controller's Office to study and make recommendations for how to improve the City's street delivery process. An update on that study is provided below:

Initial Draft Better Streets Concepts

These DRAFT Concepts were developed in Summer 2007 -- they have since been refined into the Better Streets Plan Draft for Public Review, shown above. The DRAFT Concepts shown in the links below present initial proposals for how to improve San Francisco’s pedestrian environment.

Because different streets play different roles—and should therefore be designed differently—the DRAFT Concepts are divided by street type. For each street type, the illustrations show a typical existing condition, a set of standard improvements (such as street trees, curb ramps, and pedestrian lighting), and a set of additional options that could be applied given the circumstances of a particular street.
