525 Golden Gate Avenue (SFPUC Building)
The project consists of a new 12-story office building that will house the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) administration offices and its critical Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system that monitors and controls the SFPUC’s water transmission and distribution system. The project promises to be the most innovative and greenest office building in the country. DPW is managing this important capital project on behalf of the SFPUC. DPW is responsible for overseeing the design work, approvals, and will monitor all construction activities
Estimated cost: $190 million
Time frame: Construction will begin in 2008, SFPUC staff will begin moving to their new building in 2010.
