Project Information
The goal of the Valencia Streetscape Improvements project between 15th and 19th Streets is to provide residents and visitors with safe and easy access to businesses, schools, shopping and regional transit
connections enhancing the sense of place with a unified ribbon of Valencia Streetscape improvements.
The Valencia Street is a vibrant corridor with restaurants, shops, art galleries, and other establishments that are frequented by thousands of people. DPW and MTA teamed up to create a vision on how to improve this area with the goal of providing residents and visitors with safe and easy access to businesses, schools, shopping and regional transit connections. A big part of this envisioning process was then participation of the community and their feedback.
Phase One of the Valencia Streetscape Improvement Project includes sidewalk widening, bulb-outs, more accommodating curbside loading zones for trucks, improved traffic/parking and bicycle lane alignments, the removal of the striped center median, pedestrian scale lighting, art elements, bike racks, and new street trees.
