The Department of Public Works uses several methods to coordinate utility excavation, paving and other construction projects in the public right of way in order to minimize the impact of construction on our streets and in our neighborhoods.

Utility and Paving Five-Year Plan Maps & Reports

The Utility Excavation and Paving Five Year Plan assists various utility agencies and the City to plan and coordinate major capital improvement projects. Please Note: These reports and maps are for planning purposes only and are subject to change without notice.

Five-Year Plan System for Utility Agencies- The Five-Year Plan database is used for tracking all of the projects.

CULCOP Monthly Meeting Minutes -Monthly CULCOP (Committee for Utility Liaison on Construction and Other Projects) meetings are held for discussion and coordination of projects.

NOI Mailing List- Notice of Intent letters are used to notify utilities and city agencies of upcoming projects.

DPW Order 176,707 (PDF)- Any person excavating in the Public Right-of-Way must obtain an excavation permit and comply with Orders and Regulations of the Department of Public Works (DPW). This Order contains all the regulations and requirements from the DPW Code.

Excavation Code - Article 2.4 of the Public Works Code- The excavation code regulates construction and paving in our streets.
