Micki Callahan

Micki Callahan was appointed as the Director of Human Resources for the City & County of San Francisco on October 9, 2007. Ms. Callahan first joined the Department of Human Resources in October of 2005 as the Employee Relations Director. In this capacity Ms. Callahan was responsible for directing the negotiations of labor agreements covering the City’s 28,000 employees and managing the City’s labor relations program, including labor contract administration, dispute resolution, and training.

Prior to joining the Department of Human Resources, Ms. Callahan spent ten years with the State Mediation and Conciliation Service, and served as the Supervisor of Conciliation from 2000 through 2005. Before she became a mediator, Ms. Callahan spent fourteen years working as a union representative with the Service Employees International Union and the California Nurses Association.

Ms. Callahan was born and raised in Massachusetts, and has been a California resident since 1984. Ms. Callahan received her BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
