November 2, 2009  11:00 a.m.

The City and County of San Franicsco, along with the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies responded to a fuel spill in San Francisco Bay, initially reported at 6:48 a.m. on 10/30/09. The source of the leak, from the tanker Dubai Star, has been contained.

There is no obvious remaining oil on the water. Crown Beach in Alameda seems to be hardest hit with focused clean up at that location. Although some Wildlife has been impacted, there is currently no threat to any endangered species. All ecologically sensitive areas have been boomed off without incident. There has been no reported oil on shore within CCSF. Weather outlook continues to be for ideal to support continued clean up operations.

The Dubai Star was moved to pier 80 without incident or additional contamination.
