Redlight Camera Citations
Please refer to the section entitled, "Not the Driver" if you are not the person in the Red Light camera photograph. If you are the person in the Red Light camera photograph and you wish to pay the fine, you have three options: 1. Automated Phone System: Pay the bail (fine) with an American Express, Visa, Master Card or debit card by calling (415) 551-8550. It is important to note that a convenience fee of $9.95 is applied. 2. For Directions: WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE NOT THE DRIVER OR IF IT'S A COMPANY CAR DO NOT PAY THE CITATION IF YOU PLAN TO HAVE IT TAKEN OUT OF YOUR NAME After a red light camera photograph is taken, the vehicle's registered owner will receive a citation in the mail. The citation will state when and where the violation occurred. It will include a photo of the vehicle in the intersection, a close-up of the driver and the vehicle's license plate. It will also include instructions about what to do next, including what to do if you, the registered owner, are not the person pictured behind the wheel.
DO NOT PAY THE CITATION IF YOU PLAN TO HAVE IT TAKEN OUT OF YOUR NAME
By mail: It is recommended that the requested documentation be sent certified mail with a return receipt. Upon receipt of the above documentation, a traffic Commissioner will dismiss the citation from the company's name and issue a citation to the person that has been identified as the driver. The citation in the company's name will not be dismissed until the Court has received the completed identification form or payment has been made The above procedure may take four (4) to eight (8) weeks. It is important to note that once the dismissal process has started no additional penalties will incur. DO NOT PAY THE CITATION IF YOU PLAN TO HAVE IT TAKEN OUT OF YOUR NAME
