Project Pull Summer Internship Program

For Mentors & Team Leaders

Rotation 2

Mentors
The Project Pull program has been successfully matching talented and motivated young people with Mentors from various departments within the City and County of San Francisco. The successes we’ve had as a program are due in large part to the many dedicated career mentors that we've worked with over the years. This year we are once again seeking city employees who are interested in providing career oriented internships in the fields of architecture, business, engineering, and science to Project Pulls youth.

If you are interested in participating in 2009s Project Pull Summer Internship Program, please complete a New Mentor Recruitment Packet (PDF) or if you are a returning mentor please complete a Mentor Application (PDF) and send the completed forms back to the address below.

Team Leaders

Project Pull is committed to providing a rewarding and educational internship experience to both its career mentors and participants. In order to meet this commitment, all interns and career mentors are assigned a college-level Project Pull Team Leader. Project Pull Team Leaders are the primary point of contact for the programs interns and will act as the liaison between the interns, Project Pull Coordinator, Mentors, and New Ways Workers. This person, often a past participant, takes in active role in the intern interview process and is responsible for intern placement, mentor and intern training/orientation, planning enrichment activities and events, visiting worksites, assisting in the resolution of workplace issues, and processing payroll. Team Leaders will also serve as a role model to the interns and are expected to display professionalism and diligence at all times.

Project Pull Team Leaders are available to meet with interns and mentors whenever issues at the workplace arise and can also be called upon to serve as an intermediary between the intern and the mentor.

We are now accepting resumes with cover letters for the 2009 Project Pull session. If you are interested in the Team Leader position, please mail a signed cover letter and resume with two (2) references (non-family members) before April 24, 2009.
