Bike To Work Day 2004

Every major city in the United States shares at least one common problem- traffic congestion and air polution caused by the prevalent use of automobiles by commuters to get to their jobs in the City. Mayor Gavin Newsom is keenly aware of this fact, and on Thursday, May 20, 2004 Mayor Newsom, joined by thousands of like-minded San Franciscans and other City officials, took to the streets on two wheels instead of four using good old fashioned muscle power to bring him to City Hall for his work day.
