Mayor’s Teacher of the Month Award

Please complete the form below to nominate a teacher to receive the Mayor's Teacher of the Month Award.

Mayor Gavin Newsom has established the San Francisco Mayor's Teacher of the Month Award to recognize outstanding San Francisco public school teachers for their dedication, professionalism, and work on behalf of our City's young people. Teachers receiving this award are nominated by the community - parents, youth, educators, administrators, and other community members - for excellence in their classroom, their school, and their City. From these nominations, a Selection Committee of representatives from the Mayor's Office, Office of the Superintendent of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), United Educators of San Francisco, and San Francisco Education Fund, and a Blue-Ribbon Panel of youth, parents, community-based organizations, and business will select the individual award recipients to be honored each month of the school year

For the purposes of this award, a teacher includes all SFUSD certificated employees, including all classroom teachers for pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, library media teachers, instructional reform facilitators and other non-classroom teachers, counselors, and credentialed nurses.
