Services
DT delivers six core services ultimately designed to improve government services, our community and the lives of the City's customers - individuals and organizations who live, work, and/or visit our community, physically and virtually through the Internet. E-Services These services are provided directly to the public to enhance the accessibility and transparency of City government using the City's official Web site (SFGov) as a key communication and service-delivery channel. Policy & Planning Services These services support electronic governance and include cable franchise administration, development and administration of Citywide technology policies, enterprise IT planning, and recommendation, advocacy and monitoring of technology ordinances, such as the city telecommunication plan. Policy and planning services include processing video franchise applications (PDF). Application Portfolio Management These services deliver technology solutions to the organization and are organized around the City/County's communities of interest (COI's). Delivery of technology solutions includes consulting, process review, design and architecture, project management, implementation, integration, and on-going maintenance. End User Support Services These services support the customers that use the technology systems provided by the department. These services include technical training, service desk and technical support services, and short-term consulting (assistance). Communication Infrastructure Services & Support These services include provision and support of the infrastructure necessary to deploy, operate, and maintain the organization's communications and information systems. The services performed include design, ordering, installation, configuration, deployment, and on-going maintenance, repair and upgrades. Business Integration & Transitional Support These services support the operations of the department, implementation of the new organization structure and service delivery approach, and eventually transition to an enterprise IT organization. |
