Laptop Grants Program for At Risk Youth
This program provides free refurbished laptops and computer training to selected college bound foster care youth and other youth under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court System. This program is made possible through contributions from Netgear, www.netgear.com and a generous grant from the John Burton Foundation www.johnburtonfoundation.org. Applications are submitted on behalf of the youth by a social worker, CASA, probation officer, attorney, or other adult authorized by the court to provide services to the youth. For application forms, seeLaptop Computer - Individual Grants Program. Applications are now closed until 2009. City Youth Now selects recipients with input from the Independent Living Services Program and the Juvenile Court system. Note that they do not accept requests directly from youth or their caregivers.
