In the June 2008 election, we passed Proposition A, an important measure that provides additional needed funding for our schools and children.  The hard part of course is that the economy is not doing well and now most of us have received our property tax bills which contain a $198.00 special assessment for Proposition A.  The good news is that you can get an exemption if you are over 65 years of age, own your home, and the home is your primary residence.  If your household budget is tight and you need the exemption, download the form, submit it immediately and save $198.00 this year.  The deadline was July 30, 2008, but it has been extended since Proposition A passed only this year.  So do not delay and submit the form as soon as possible.
